Dina has been supporting Habitat and active on our Board for years. We are thrilled to welcome her now as the new Board Vice President.

Dina Rubino was born and raised in Southern California. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Language Arts, from Cal State San Bernardino. She has worked as a resource teacher, an elementary school teacher, and a substitute teacher, for her entire career. Dina, and her husband Tom, have lived in Nevada County for over 26 years. Together they raised three children, and two nephews here. Dina and Tom enjoy spending time with family, visiting their (now adult) children, and hosting large family gatherings during the summer.

It was a chance encounter that brought Dina to volunteer at Habitat’s construction site on Ivy Street. Her church was celebrating an anniversary year and asked for volunteers to help with a build day. Years later, Dina’s son was required to volunteer as a service project for high school and they thought of Habitat. As her son volunteered at the construction site, Dina volunteered right along with him. She thought Habitat was such an amazing organization, and had such a great mission statement, that she aspired to support Habitat by becoming a board member.
