Habitat for Humanity in Nevada County has just concluded a very successful year in spite of the challenges that we all have been facing. We completed two homes, donations and income held steady and ReStore income was record-setting. We are a smaller Habitat affiliate compared to some areas of the country, but our results exceed our size. These results come from the extraordinary gifts and talents of our volunteers, sponsors, donors and homeowners.

As we move into 2022, exciting things are happening. We will complete the last 2 of 4 homes in the Park Place development and two new homeowners will take their keys to a new home and a new life. Ground breaking and construction will start on Heritage Oaks II, a 12-home development adjacent to Heritage Oaks. To meet the needs of the community, our focus is to expand our construction capacity to 3 or more homes per year, up from the current 2.  We also plan to return to more in-person events including Street of Dreams, volunteer and donor recognition, and home dedications.

We are incredibly thankful for all of those who are helping Habitat address the great need for affordable housing in our county. Habitat for Humanity is a very diverse organization and if you are looking for ways to support our work consider the following opportunities:

  • Donating to Nevada County Habitat
  • Volunteering your time (construction, ReStore, events)
  • Donating and shopping at ReStore
  • Attending Habitat events
  • Spreading the Habitat message to your friends, and neighbors

Thank you for helping Nevada County Habitat having even more success in 2022.
