Some people come into organizations and change things for the better. Andy Wright, our Communications Specialist did that and more! When Andy joined Nevada County Habitat five years ago, we faced the same challenges that most nonprofits do: how do we get the word out about our good work? Lucky for us he had an extensive background in graphic design, building websites, PR, and storytelling. His experience and attention to quality has made a big difference.

Over the course of five years, Andy raised our visibility and increased interest in our program, the ReStore, volunteering, donations, and much more! In short, he brought more people into the Habitat family and contributed a great deal to our success in the community.

Although we will miss him, and his sharp wit, we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement!  He has left behind a legacy of a highly effective communications program and for that, we are eternally grateful. You may still see Andy at our events, or volunteering.

We are also pleased to welcome Jamie Jo Friederick as our new Communications Specialist – stay tuned to our next newsletter for an introduction to our newest team member!
