Nevada County Habitat for Humanity Awarded PG&E Grant to Support Local Housing through “Connecting Hometowns” Partnership
We’re thrilled to announce that we are one of five Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Northern and Central California to receive a $50,000 grant from Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) as part of a powerful new initiative: Connecting Hometowns.
This two-year, $500,000 partnership between PG&E and Habitat for Humanity California is helping expand access to safe, decent, and affordable housing in the communities PG&E serves. In addition to funding, PG&E employees are rolling up their sleeves and volunteering on Habitat build sites — combining corporate investment with hands-on service to make a real difference for local families.
Here in Nevada County PG&E’s support is helping us get much needed infrastructure support to our 4 home project in Grass Valley.
We recently welcomed a team of PG&E employee volunteers for a day of building and community connection. Their commitment to giving back — both financially and through hands-on acts of service — is helping us accelerate our work and serve more families in need of a stable, affordable place to call home.
“We are deeply grateful to PG&E for investing in our mission and our community,” said Tai Batov, Associate Director. This partnership is a testament to what’s possible when private business and nonprofits come together to create real change in the communities we all share and love.”
Connecting Hometowns launched during National Homeownership Month, a time to reflect on the importance of affordable homeownership in creating stronger, healthier, and more equitable communities. In California, where the median home price has soared above $800,000, Habitat’s work — and the support of partners like PG&E — is more critical than ever.
Thank you, PG&E, for helping us connect more families to the stability and strength of home.
