15 Years of Dedication and Financial Stewardship
Lisa Hooper has been a big part of Nevada County Habitat for Humanity for 15 years, bringing a commitment to excellence and a heart for service. As the Accounts Manager, Lisa ensures the financial health of the organization with goals of integrity and responsiveness. Lisa especially appreciates Habitat’s mission to empower families and children through homeownership, all while being volunteer-driven. She finds joy in working alongside dedicated homeowners, volunteers, and staff, and she values the organization’s independence.
”I’ve been working at Habitat for fifteen years and really enjoy interacting with the homeowners and staff. I like working to provide good service.”
Originally from Pennsylvania, Lisa moved to the Sierra Nevada region 25 years ago and has embraced the area’s natural beauty. Whether backpacking, skiing, or kayaking, she loves exploring the outdoors. However, she still enjoys returning east to visit family.
Lisa holds a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and spent a decade in the aeronautical industry. She then focused on her two sons for 15 years before transitioning to her role at Habitat. Lisa’s passion for community building and teamwork is a family affair. Lisa’s husband and sons have all been integral in Street of Dreams over the years.
