The 2020 Street of Dreams, Nevada County Habitat for Humanity’s signature event, is happening on September 18, but it will look a lot different.

“Because of the uncertainty about gatherings in the near future we’ve made a commitment to going online,” says Nevada County Habitat Executive Director Lorraine Larson. “The health and well-being of our supporters will always come first.”

Billed as a “Celebrauction”, Nevada County Habitat has a lot of special things in store for Street of Dreams attendees, beginning with a live auction conducted by Gary Lorentzen – Habitat’s ace auctioneer for the past four years. “Gary has done a number of online auctions during the Pandemic,” says Larson. “He says they’ve been lively, fun events. I know we’re going to do all we can to make this a special night.”

Nevada County Habitat will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2020, with Street of Dreams marking the occasion with special video and live presentations. “The people attending will get to meet our homeowners as never before, hear from long-time supporters, and have an opportunity to be a part of our history.”

The event will kick-off with an online “silent” auction beginning Friday, September 4 (which concludes on September 18). And then, on the 18th, Habitat will present what amounts to an interactive televised production, with features on homeowners and supporters.

“While we’d all like to be together under one roof, the format of this event isn’t limited by geography. We encourage our supporters to invite their friends, family and colleagues to attend, no matter where in the world they might be.” Larson said. “We’ve got some unique auction items, too. I think this is going to be a lot of fun!”

More details on the Street of Dreams Celebrauction will be forthcoming in July. Stay tuned!
