We have just completed our 5 home project! Five more affordable Habitat Homes in Nevada County.  Late 2007 we started construction on a five-home project.  The first home was completed Spring of 2008 and after working hard to help build their own house, our fifteenth homeowner family purchased and moved into their new home.  April 2009, the sixteenth and seventeenth homes were completed and the new homeowner families purchased and moved into their new homes in May.

Within walking distance of downtown Grass Valley, Ivy Street is an ideal location.  Along with the addition of five new affordable homes Habitat has teamed with the City of Grass Valley to provide neighborhood improvements such as newly paved street, sidewalks, and utilities.  Habitat not only helps provide affordable homes, but we're committed to developing and improving our local communities as well.

The Final Two Homes were completed in time for Christmas 2009. If you stop by Ivy Street in Grass Valley, you’ll see the final 2 homes completed. Thanks to the determined volunteer leadership from Frank Sobrero and Phil Damask home construction moved apidly. Frank and Phil are our site supervisors and they work tirelessly all week long making sure prep work is completed and materials are ready when the 10-18 devoted Habitat volunteers arrive each Wednesday and Saturday.

Next Project: We are in the planning stages of a 16 home development on Joyce Drive in Grass Vallay.
